ABOUT THE OCF

OUR VISION

To encourage churches and chapels to provide open doors and rooms, when possible, so that people everywhere can find a quiet place to communicate with God. And, to encourage daily communication with God through Bible reading and prayer.

OUR FOUNDATION

Roger W. Babson established The Open Church Foundation on the principle that everyone needs a quiet place to communicate with God. During a crisis in his own life, he took a walk and found a church whose door was unlocked. In the quietness of this open church he found the welcome and comfort expressed in the twenty-third Psalm."The Lord Leads me...in quiet places...He restores my soul." Refreshed by his time of prayer, Roger Babson was moved to share this experience. In August of 1942 he and a group of interested laymen established The Open Church Foundation. We are a 501(3)(c) non-profit agency.

OUR WORK

Roger Babson found that one of the most effective ways to meet our mission was through the printed page. He often said, "Since we cannot personally visit thousands of churches, the mailman must be our missionary." Therefore, since 1942 The Open-Church Foundation has prayerfully endeavored to make available high quality pamphlets designed to:

  • help people know God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • aid Christians in facing daily problems.
